Taxes
If you charge VAT, GST or sales tax, add it once and Tourtify applies it to every booking. Each tax is either included in your prices or added on top. Either way, your website advertises the price the traveller will actually pay, and receipts show the tax.
Where to find it
Console › Settings › Business › Taxes
Add a tax
- Go to Settings › Taxes and choose Add a tax.
- Enter a Name, e.g. "VAT".
- Enter the Rate in percent, e.g. 13.
- Tick Already included in my prices if your tour prices already contain the tax.
- Choose Add tax.
The screen shows an example of how a tour price is advertised and charged with your current taxes.
Included or not included
| Setting | Your tour priced at 100 | Receipt |
|---|---|---|
| Included (13%) | Advertised and charged at 100 | Shows the 11.50 tax inside the 100 |
| Not included (13%) | Advertised and charged at 113 | Shows 100 + 13 tax |
Advertised prices are all-in
With a tax that is not included, your website still shows the total (113 in the example), so travellers never see a surprise at checkout.
Several taxes
You can add more than one tax, for example a VAT and a tourism levy. Each is calculated on the booking price and listed separately on receipts. Mix included and not-included taxes as your rules require.
Change or remove a tax
- Change the rate in the list and choose Save.
- The Included in prices switch and the On/Off switch save straight away. Switch a tax off to pause it without losing it.
- Choose Remove to delete a tax.
Existing bookings don't change
Tax changes apply to new bookings straight away. Existing bookings keep what they were charged.
