Two-step sign-in
Two-step sign-in protects your account even if your password leaks. After your password, Tourtify asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. It's optional for business accounts and strongly recommended for owners and admins.
Where to find it
Console › Settings › Your account › Password › Two-step sign-in
What you need
An authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or your password manager.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings › Password and find Two-step sign-in.
- Choose Set up two-step sign-in.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type the key shown.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and choose Turn on.
- Save your recovery codes now. Tourtify shows 8 recovery codes once. Choose Copy codes and store them somewhere safe, such as your password manager.
You'll see "Two-step sign-in is on."
Recovery codes are shown only once
Each recovery code gets you in once if you lose your phone. They won't be shown again. If you lose them, make new ones (below) while you still have access.
Sign in with two-step sign-in
- Enter your email and password as usual.
- Open your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code for Tourtify.
- Choose Sign in.
Lost your phone?
- On the code screen, choose Lost your phone? Use a recovery code.
- Enter one of your saved recovery codes and sign in.
- Go to Settings › Password and set up two-step sign-in again on your new phone.
Each recovery code works once. The Password screen shows how many you have left.
Make new recovery codes
Choose Make new recovery codes, confirm with your password, then save the new codes. The old codes stop working.
Turn it off
Choose Turn off, confirm with your password and choose Turn off two-step sign-in. Your account is then protected by your password only.
Required for Tourtify staff
Tourtify staff who can access the super admin must use two-step sign-in. Without it, the super admin asks them to turn it on before they continue. This protects every business on the platform if a staff password leaks.
If you're locked out
If you've lost both your phone and your recovery codes, contact Tourtify support. They will verify your identity before restoring access.
