# Themes and Theme Builder

Your theme decides how your whole website looks: colours, fonts, shapes, the header, the footer and the home page. Pick a ready-made theme in one click, then make it yours in the Theme Builder with a live preview. Nothing changes on your website until you press **Publish**.

## Choose a theme

The **Themes** screen shows every theme as a live miniature built from your own content.

1. Go to **Website › Appearance**.
2. Choose **Live preview** on a theme to see it with your content on any page and device.
3. Choose **Activate** and confirm.

Switching keeps your content: hero text and photo, home page blocks, menus and footer. Premium themes also add their signature blocks (for example Stats, Video or Gallery) to your home page; you can hide or remove them afterwards.

::: tip Premium themes on Starter
You can preview premium themes on any plan. Activating one needs the Growth or Scale plan; the button reads **Upgrade to use** until then.

::: warning Unpublished changes
Activating a theme discards any unpublished changes in the Theme Builder. Publish or save them first.

## Open the Theme Builder

Choose **Customize** on the active theme, or go to **Website › Appearance › Customize**. The builder opens full screen with a settings panel on the left and a live preview on the right.

- Switch the preview between **desktop, tablet and mobile** and choose which **page** to preview.
- Click any part of the preview to jump to its settings.
- Use **Undo** (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z) and **Redo** (⇧⌘Z) freely.

| Start from a theme | Apply another theme's colours, fonts, shapes and layouts. Your content and blocks stay. |
| Colours | Primary and accent colour (or **Use my brand colour**), page background, cards, text, header and footer colours. Dark themes are supported. |
| Typography | Heading and body fonts from a curated list. |
| Buttons & shapes | Corners (Square, Rounded, Pill) and button style (Solid, Outline). |
| Header | Header builder (see below). |
| Home page | Add, reorder, hide and edit home page blocks. |
| Tour cards | Classic, Photo overlay or Minimal cards; show star rating, duration and difficulty, short summary. |
| Footer | Footer builder (see below). |
| Custom CSS | Advanced fine-tuning applied on top of the theme. |
| History | Every published version, with preview and restore. |

## Build your header

The header has **three rows**, each with **left, centre and right** zones. Drag elements between zones and click one to edit it.

Elements: Logo, Menu (any menu, nested items show as dropdowns), Search, Phone (tap to call), Email, Button (for example "Book now"), My bookings (traveller sign-in), Currency (with the [Currency switcher](/plugins/currency-switcher) plugin), Social icons and Text.

Row and header options:

- Row height (Slim, Regular, Tall) and own colours per row.
- **Stay on screen when scrolling** (sticky header).
- **Transparent over the hero photo** on the home page.
- Width: Contained or Full width.
- A separate phone header ("Phones") with left and right zones and a menu drawer.

## Build your footer

The footer has up to **three rows of one to four columns**. Drag widgets between columns; click a row name to change its columns, widths, alignment and colours. You can also **Start from a layout**.

Widgets: About, Logo, Menu, Contact, Social, Tours, Destinations, Activities, Categories, Review rating, Secure payments, Text, Button and Copyright (`© {year} {site}` is filled in for you).

The About text and social links come from **Website › Appearance › Site details**; contact details come from **Settings › Business details**. "Secure booking powered by Tourtify" and the cookie settings link always show at the very bottom.

## Arrange home page blocks

Open **Home page**, then **Add a block**. Drag to reorder; click a block to edit it.

| Contact | An enquiry form; messages arrive in Enquiries |
| Stats | Big numbers, e.g. years guiding |
| Video | A YouTube (privacy-enhanced) or Vimeo video |
| Awards & partners | A row of logos |
| Featured testimonial | One big quote from a traveller |

Every block also has **Block style**: background (page, subtle grey, card, brand, contrast or a custom colour, with text contrast handled for you), extra space, **Hide on phones**, **Hide on computers** and an **Anchor** so menus can link to `/#your-anchor`. Use the block menu to **Duplicate**, **Move up/down** or **Remove block**.

## Save, preview and publish

- Changes **autosave as a draft** ("Draft saved · not live yet"). Visitors see nothing until you publish.
- Choose **Preview** to open the draft in a new tab.
- Choose **Publish** to make the draft live.
- **More actions › Discard draft** throws away all unpublished changes.

If the draft changes in another tab or by a teammate, the builder warns you and lets you **Load their version** or **Keep mine**.

## Restore an earlier version

Each publish is kept in **History** (the last 30). Preview a version, then choose **Restore to draft**, check it and publish.

## Save and share your own themes

- **More actions › Save as a theme…** keeps the current design in **My themes** without publishing.
- On the Themes screen, use **Save a copy**, **Export** (JSON) and **Import theme** to move a design between businesses or keep a backup.
