# Announcement bar and site details

The announcement bar is a strip across the top of every page of your website, in your brand colour. Use it for offers, festival closures or booking deadlines. Site details hold the About text and social links your footer shows.

## Publish an announcement

1. Go to **Website › Appearance › Announcement bar**.
2. Switch on **Show the announcement on your website**.
3. Write the **Message**, for example "Dashain special: 10% off all treks until 15 Oct".
4. Optionally add a **Link** and **Link text** ("See treks").
5. Optionally set **Hide after**: the bar disappears automatically after that date.
6. Check the **Preview**, then choose **Publish announcement**.

The status line tells you where you stand: **Showing on your website**, **Shows once you publish**, or **Off: visitors don't see this**.

::: tip Time-limited offers
Always set **Hide after** for promotions. You won't have to remember to switch the bar off.
:::

## Turn it off

Switch off **Show the announcement on your website** and publish. Your message is kept for next time.
