# Group discounts <Badge type="tip" text="Growth+" />

Group discounts reward larger bookings automatically. You set tiers such as "4+ travellers save 5%, 8+ save 10%", and the right discount applies at checkout without a code. Showing the saving on your tour pages nudges travellers to bring friends.

::: info At a glance
- **Plan:** Growth and Scale
- **Category:** Sales
- **Where:** Console › Plugins › Group discounts, and Tours › Group discounts
:::

## How it works

**What the traveller sees**

- Under the price on tour pages and in the booking form: "Groups save: 4+ save 5%, 8+ save 10%".
- In the booking form, a nudge towards the next tier: "Add 2 more travellers to save 10%".
- The discount as its own line in the price breakdown.

**How the discount is worked out**

- Only the best matching tier applies. Tiers don't add up.
- The discount applies to the ticket price, not to add-ons or fees.
- You choose who counts towards the group size and who gets the discount, e.g. adults only.

**What your team sees**

**Tours › Group discounts** shows your tiers per tour, plus group bookings, average group size, discount given and revenue.

## Turn it on

1. Go to **Console › Plugins**.
2. Find **Group discounts** and flip its switch on.
3. Open **Tours › Group discounts** and add your default tiers.

## Settings

| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Show "Save X% with N+" on tour pages | A short line under the price and in the booking form. The discount applies either way. | On |
| Nudge travellers towards the next tier | In the booking form: "Add 2 more travellers to save 10%". | On |

## Set your default tiers

Default tiers apply to every tour without its own tiers.

1. Go to **Tours › Group discounts** and select **All tours (default)**.
2. Select **Add tier**. Enter the **Minimum travellers** and the **Discount percent**.
3. Add more tiers as needed, e.g. 4+ save 5%, 8+ save 10%.
4. Choose what the **Discount applies to**:

   | Option | Example |
   |---|---|
   | **The whole group** | A group of 8 at "6+ save 10%" gets 10% off all 8. |
   | **Travellers from the threshold up** | A group of 8 at "6+ save 10%" gets 10% off travellers 6–8. |

5. Under **Who counts and gets the discount**, keep every ticket type, or choose specific ones. Only these tickets count towards the group size and get the discount.
6. Select **Save discounts**.

## Give a tour its own tiers

1. On **Tours › Group discounts**, use **Give a tour its own tiers** and choose a tour.
2. Add its tiers and select **Save discounts**.

The tour then uses its own tiers instead of the default. Remove them all to go back to the default.

## Good to know

- How a group discount combines with a promo code depends on the code's **Stacking** rule. See [Promo codes](./promo-codes#how-codes-combine-with-other-discounts).
- Turning the plugin off stops group prices applying to new bookings. Your discount tiers are kept.

::: tip Keep tiers simple
Two or three tiers are easy to read on a tour page. More tiers make the "Groups save" line long and harder to scan on a phone.
